I stared making papercuts of the Amsterdam architecture back in 2008 when I received a craft knife with a swivel blade as a gift. I start with a single sheet of black paper and cut out the design with the tiny knife. In the pieces below, I chose different buildings from various places in the city and brought them together to make a new scene. I tired to include all the varying gable styles from different periods of the city’s history that are proudly displayed along Amsterdam’s seemingly endless rows of canals.
